It's a lovely sunny Friday! We have made it and my first week of homeschool is done!
The first thing I did was Maths. My mum printed some worksheets all of TIME questions and problems. This is my worst maths topic. I got a few wrong but mum went through them with me. I need to remember not to use column addition cause we are not dealing with hundreds. We are dealing in 60s!

I then did some PSHE. We did the topic Human Rights. We looks at the rights together and talked about them. We then played a game of 'Who Wants To Be a Millionaire' where I had to pick the right answer.
I then picked a human right to research. I picked the right to EDUCATION.
We read about Malala. She is an activist who stands up for the rights of women in education because she loved going to school. When she was told she couldn't go she ignored them. One day she was on her way to school and she was shot. She survived and still encouraged other women to go to school. I designed a jigsaw puzzle piece to represent the right to education.
This is my design:

I went for a walk with Ziggy around the golf course and found a pine cone as big as my hand. I plan on painting a the small cone tomorrow so it looks like a disco ball and the big one I found will be a person. My mum's not impressed!
I then had a grammar lesson on pronouns - boredom. However I did do very well on the worksheets.

Then Ziggy started barking so I went to see what it was and I saw a fire engine going to the house next door to our house. My mum looked through the window and we saw lots of black smoke! Then another fire engine turned up so we went into the back garden to see if we could see anymore. I took some pictures as my mum said I could write a newspaper report next week!
After a while we heard a huge bang and there was lots more black smoke!! I wasn't allowed outside then in case it was dangerous. I hope everyone is ok.
This was quite a dramatic end to my first week of home school.
