Monday 20th April 2020

Welcome back to homeschool!

I started today by completing the maths set by my teacher on decimals. I made a couple of silly errors - adding instead of subtracting!  Once I worked it out and it was the right answer but then copied the wrong answer into the box.  I really need to read the questions carefully and check my answers.

I then set up a scrapbook on the school website and started my diary.  I tried to use fronted adverbials.  I wrote about the dastardly decimals I had been doing and I put this photo in.

When I had completed that I revised some of the grammar I had done before Easter and did a little test.

I then had a play in the garden with Ziggy.

After lunch we started to research the Battle of Little Big Horn.  It wasn't long before my dad heard us.  He stopped work and came in to tell us all about it - he's mad for it and loves history.  My Grandad Wales has been to Montana and visited the site.

We watched a couple of videos and looked at lots of images.  Here is a good summary:

As part of my research I had to put the statements in the chronological order.  I then drew what I thought Custer saw before he died.

The part of the research I most enjoyed was learning about some of the people involved in the Sioux Wars.  I read information about them and made some notes.  I then had to decide who I thought was the biggest warmonger.  The worst person I read about was Chivington.  I made my fact sheet and added it to the school website.

When my I was researching and talking about the battle and the people with my mum dad kept interrupting so I decided to interview him.

You can hear the interview here:

I also did some TT Rockstars and ballet stretching.

See you tomorrow.
