This morning I did the Maths lesson with Mr Barton. This was all about converting time and solving problems.
I had to draw number lines to show how I answered the questions.

I then did the History lesson Miss Reid. This was really interesting. Martin Luther was a German priest who disagreed with some of the things happening in the Catholic church.
He didn't think Pope Leo X had the knowledge of God, He didn't agree with people donating money to pay for their sins to go away and he also believed the bible should be translated in the language of common people.
Henry was Catholic and he rejected Martin Luther (protestantism) as first. I learned about the English Reformation and why Henry VIII broke away from the Catholic church.
There were 3 main reasons:
1: Personal: He was married to Catherine of Aragon and wanted to marry someone else -Anne Boylin.
2: Economic: He wanted to give money to the landowners not the Catholic Church. They were then called the landed gentry and they could make more money for the country.
3. Political: He wanted a male heir so he could continue his dynasty.
I also learned about Henry's six wives:
Divorced, Beheaded, Died,
Divorced, Beheaded Survived.
I really enjoyed this lesson.
I then did some of the work set by my teacher. I did the White Rose worksheet. I am getting much more confident about long multiplications.
I then did the poetry lesson on the oak national academy. I learned to identify onomatopoeia and allteration.
I also did the grammar work on apostrophes.
Using apostrophes
Apostrophes for contraction
I also found a Grammaropolis song about apostrophes:
After lunch I completed the Year 5 Oak National Academy lesson on persuasive language and the science lesson on metamorphic rock.
I learned how Metamorphic rock is made by applying heat and/or pressure to igneous and sedimentary rock. Here is a demonstration:
You never cease to amaze me Seren !
