Friday 12th June 2020

For the first lesson of the day I finished the History lessons on Oak National.  All week I have been learning about Medieval Monarch and today's focus was Edward I.  I enjoyed this lesson because Edward built many castles in Wales and I had visited them.  My favourite of the castles was Beaumaris and Harlech.  I didn't much like Edward though because he fought the Welsh and the Scottish. However, I did learn that he was a powerful ruler.  He is also called the father of parliament because he set up the system with the Lords and Commoners that we have today.  He did torture and kill William Wallace so it was hard to answer the final question because I think he was both a great and a terrible king.

Overall, after learning about many of the medieval kings I think the worst was King John.  My dad has told me lots of gruesome stories about him!

The next lesson I did was Maths with Mr Barton.  We were looking at working out questions without writing them down.  I am getting good at this.  I then did some more work with my mum on percentages.  I am learning to work these out in my head.  So once I know what 50% is I know what 25% and 75% is.  Also if I know what 10% I can work out 5% so I can work out 15%, 30% and 45% etc.  I then did some Times Table Rock Stars on my iPad.

The last English lesson of the week was on writing a  non-chronological report. This was the task.

This is the mythical creature I created:  The Flaming Shoose

Here is my report:
