Thursday 4th June 2020

We started the morning with Maths and English from the Oak National Academy.  In Maths I did adding using mental strategies.  I then had to choose 2 different methods.

In English the focus was on punctuating speech.  Mr Emmerson went over the rules and then I had to correct the punctuation.

The next lesson was RE with Miss Reid.  We continued with the topic of Buddhism and today we looked at what Buddhists celebrate.  I learned about WESAK which is sometimes called Buddha day.  The day of this festival changes every year because Buddhists use a lunar calendar.  I also learned about the 4 noble truths and the path to enlightenment.  I then had to complete the matching exercise.

I also did a KS2 SPaG paper.  I got 60/70 (44/50 n paper 1 and 16/20 on spellings). While mum was in a meeting I did part of a reading paper and I will finish this tomorrow.

The last lesson of the day was ART.   This is what I did:

First, I went on a texture hunt.  Things I found included a pencil case, a trophy, ornaments, a straw hat.  I used the techniques to make this picture of my textures.  It was quite tricky to hold my pencil in a different way.  I really enjoyed doing this and I think my picture looks good!

  1. I love the picture of all the different textures, it looks just like a patchwork quilt.
